Team Maxercise/Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu takes on the 2011 IBJJF American Nationals in California!

Last month Maxercise sent 6 competitors to Carson, Ca to compete in the 2011 IBJJF American  National Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship. The tournament was broken up into two days with most of the Gi matches being on Saturday and No-Gi taking place on Sunday. Saturday’s competitors were me(Maggie), Shawn, and John. I went first and had two matches in my weight division, and two in the Absolute, I won my division and got silver in the absolute! Next up, our Blue Belt Shawn, he takes silver in his division, and then silver in the absolute! Then to finish out Saturday John, our head coach and now black belt, takes gold in both his division and in the absolute, with submissions all around! Sunday was when the rest of the crew, Kyle, Matt, and Sarah, had their gi divsions and everyone had no-gi as well. I take my no-gi division and the absolute in no-gi, Kyle takes gold in his no-gi division, Sarah takes gold in her division and bronze in the absolute, Shawn take gold in his division and in absolute and John takes home two more gold, bringing his total up to four golds! So all in all it was an awesome trip, both in competition and in company, and definitly a good weekend from Team Maxercise/Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Philadelphia!
